Letters to the Editor
Friday Afternoon Club (a local group of friends meeting every Friday for the
past 25 years) is looking for an individual to join our group. This
individual must be fun loving, spirited, able to walk into a room and make
everyone laugh. Must love singing, playing the organ and the kazoo. Must
be the type of individual that can wear a derriere into a classroom full of
students to relieve stress prior to an exam. Must be intelligent, dedicated
to your beliefs and know how to use these skills for the betterment of the
community. I could go on forever and still not sum up all the special
qualities of Barb Monroe. What she brought to our group was so special that
we will forever feel a void in our gatherings. To think that one sad
individual could take all of this away from us is beyond belief. I read
today with disbelief that the NRA had the audacity to hold a pro-gun rally
in our great city just two days after this horrific event. They should all
be ashamed. This city is better than that, and I hope that the citizens
will come out in force and vote against any pro-gun candidates. Lets
channel our grief into something positive for our community.
